As Miami grows, it's rich history transforms into faint stories. Marginalized communities like Overtown, Allapatah and Little Haiti, were once bustling with black and brown entrepreneurs. The construction of KTG preserves the stories of the past by infuse communities with resources to thrive.

In 2014 a collective of passionate and experienced creatives joined forces with a shared vision: to help people grow. We believe to thrive in society it's advantageous to have an outlet foe self-expression, how to grow food, start & maintain business, and keep accurate records. We positively impact communities through our programs and initiatives. We provide valuable resources and access to our communities. We are committed to preserving the rich history and sparking the bright minds in these communities.

We continued to impact our community through our partnership with the Aire Ventures, formerly Venture Cafe Miami, through their Opportunity Connect program, formerly Overtown Connect. In 2021, we provided over 200 hours of technical assistance such as mentoring, software training, and pro bono work to 4 program participants.

We are proud of our team and supporters exceeding our goal of 2,000 volunteer hours in 2021. These volunteer hours included: mentoring, internships, Board volunteer, pro-bono work, and serving our community through our programs.

In 2020, we partnered with Venture Cafe Miami, a South Florida based social impact venture studio, to provide technical assistance to participants in their Overtown Connect program. Overtown Connect is a neighborhood-based network intentionally designed to remove the barriers limiting underrepresented entrepreneurs. Through the program, we provided over 200 hours of technical assistance such as mentoring, software training, and pro bono work to 5 program participants.

2019 was very activity for KTG. We began phase 1 of our Art Grows the Neighborhood initiative by opening the Grow House, a community meeting point for creative artists, vintage purveyors, and inspiring entrepreneurs to collaborate, share, and exchange their ideas, designs, crafts, and goods. We hosted, co-hosted and sponsored several events with our partners throughout 2019 including: My Miami Story, Fun days with KTG, Bayside chats and more. Our social events is where we connect with the community in a relaxed atmosphere to have open discussions on entrepreneurship, barriers to success, and potential opportunities.

We mentored several new entrepreneurs through our Think Like A Boss program and our Operation Grow program continued to activate entrepreneurs to do what they love and make a social impact. Our hosts expanded their experience offerings to include paint demonstrations, jet ski tours, and bayside meditations. Our experience hosts volunteered over 500 hours hosting over 200 experiences in their cities.

We launched Operation Grow program to activate entrepreneurs to do what they love and make a social impact by becoming local experience host. Operation Grow assist hosts to maximize their exposure, connection, and profitability. We successfully onboard 3 local experience host in 2018 who hosted over 100 experiences in their cities. We partnered with Air BnB to connect people to our mission, creating more volunteers, donors, and activists who continue to spread the word about our cause.

We launched our signature art program, Preserve The Culture. PTC is our monthly series of multicultural events including art exhibits, local chefs, and live art performances designed to restore the reputation and rich history of our communities.

We are proud of our team and supporters exceeding our goal of 1,000 volunteer hours in 2018. These volunteer hours included: mentorships, internships, Board volunteer, pro-bono work, and serving our community through our programs.

In 2017, we expanded our programs, activities, events and reach. We hosted 3 events in South Florida and 1 in Christiansted, St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands). These events boosted total attendance of over 200, with one event drawing a crowd of more than 70 attendees.

We mentored 3 Growers in our Think Like A Boss program. As a result, our Growers assisted us in preparing tax returns pro-bono.

In 2017, we launched our entrepreneurship programs empowering our community and supporting sustainable businesses. Through these programs, we offer financing solutions, financial & technical assistance, and financial education. Our programs jump started 3 new businesses in 2017!

Lastly in 2017, we began the process of filing for tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are proud to have received our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt determination January 24, 2018.

Art Grows the Neighborhood is our initiative that encourages creative artists, vintage purveyors, and inspiring entrepreneurs to collaborate, share, and exchange their ideas, designs, crafts, and goods at a community meeting point we call “The Growth Center”. The Growth Center will be a wellness and recreational hub within our community that promotes health, culture, creativity, technology, business innovation, growth opportunity, talent development, and art showcases. This space will include a physical marketplace (“The Growth Marketplace”), event space, multi-purpose studios, and more. The Growth Marketplace allows Growers, artists, and local business owners to connect, grow, exhibit, and sell. With this space, we will expand our services and opportunities to our Growers. Our signature event will be an open market style weekend extravaganza featuring live music, food trucks, and local entrepreneurs, crafted art, clothing, music, books and collectibles.
