Legacy SKill hub - 6 week summer camp

Center For Black Innovation, Inc. - Overtown, Florida



Our 6 week summer camp include internships, mentoring, stipends, networking events, online courses, training materials, and financial support for licensing and exams. We aim to connect them with experienced professionals and provide the resources needed to overcome barriers to entry.













Summer interns visited several local business to connect and learn about entrepreneurship and business.

Teach The Truth Garden - Overtown, Florida



The Teach the Truth Community Garden is being built by Dr. Marvin Dunn and the Miami Center for Racial Justice in the Historic Overtown neighborhood. The fresh vegetables and harvest will be delivered to residents in need.

This month we invited artist OPIN to the Grow House.













The Grow House is the community meeting point for creative artists, vintage purveyors, and inspiring entrepreneurs to collaborate, share, and exchange their ideas, designs, crafts, and goods.

This month, we participated in the MGFWF 'Lit and Lavish' Bus Food Tour and discovered the rich history and culinary talents of South Florida chefs.

This month, we met with local entrepreneurs looking to turn their passion for preserving the environment, cleaning up the beaches, and watersports to an impact for social change.

Airbnb hosted a series of global events to celebrate and bring Airbnb Experience Hosts together in over 60 cities.



















This month, ​we learned top tips for attracting bookings, getting 5-star ratings in Miami, scaling experiences, while meeting other hosts, and finding out about new features and sharing feedback with the Airbnb team.

A Space Called Tribe - Overtown, FL.



Our training and counseling program range from a single session to several months. We help mentees refocus by examining business and personal objectives and needs. Our goal is to recommend solutions to the mentee and the business that delivers value. We leverage our relationships with SBA resource partners, Veterans Business Outreach Centers, Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, SCORE Mentors, and other public providers to supply training projects and counseling sessions.













Our professionals have provided knowledge, career guidance, psychosocial support, and social capital to our mentees Dimitri and Kim to develop skills and experience to accelerate their careers. Our mentees have gained proficiency, professional growth and professional success.

Each year, HABESHA hosts three community events, serve as program fundraisers in addition to raising awareness around ongoing efforts. These events include the Family Fest, Organic Fest, and Harvest Fest.
